A selection of work done between 2014-2023
FUTURES PHOTOGRAPHY
Movies capturing different episodes of events that were hosted in a number of European cities as part of Futures Photography, an international platform focused on amplifying emerging artists in contemporary photography.
I was involved as film director and representative of the Futures organisation.
THE SOUND OF
Film rubs, film pops, film sighs, film clicks - and Movie Theatre The Hague let’s you hear it. I came up with the campaign concept: ‘The Sound of...’ to unlock a resounding program of talks, podcasts, playlists, exhibitions and more.
Travel through the history of film music, listen and see more!
The copy concept laid the foundation for the campaign. Commissioned by Vandejong Creative Agency.
LET IT GROW
Temporary concept store of Let It Grow, an initiative from Royal FloraHolland at Amsterdam Central Station. By growing and giving trust, hope and focus (packed as plant seeds in a little box), people could experience the value of flowers and plants. They could also immersive themselves in animated worlds designed by Thomas Traum with facts and figures that showed how greener cities can improve our health and wellbeing.
I was involved in developing the concept and wrote the copy for the shop, the experience and the gift boxes.
WITH PRIDE
How to celebrate LGBTI+ emancipation? How to spotlight the pioneers demanding rights, fighting taboos and embracing life? How to showcase the community's rich history of the past 40 years within the Netherlands? With Pride! And that's how we created a national campaign, a newspaper, an exhibition and a story platform for initiator IHLIA LGBTI Heritage: with pride.
I developed the copy concept for this campaign.
AMMODO
Movies capturing artists and scientists that are supported by Ammodo.
I developed different formats for several occasions and was involved as film director and producer.
ALLEMAAL LOKAAL
Campaign for Milieudefensie. We promoted the production of local food by using a positive call to action and tagline that rhymes and sticks ‘Allemaal Lokaal. De oplossing ligt dichterbij dan je denkt’. This way, we showed how the current situation is causing inhumane situations and deep trouble for our planet, while also giving a glimpse of how things in an ideal world could be; a neighboring farmer growing Lupine as a food alternative.
I was involved in developing the concept and wrote the copy for this campaign. The beautiful illustrations are from Sue Doeksen.
NOTHING REALLY ENDS
A short documentary about Kim Boske, an international renowned artist from Amsterdam represented by Flatland Gallery. This movie reveals the fragile process of working with indigo in Kim Boske's studio in Amsterdam, where she takes the Japanese mentality regarding craftsmanship to the level where it becomes art.
I directed and made this movie in collaboration with filmmaker and music composer Lonneke Kruisbergen.
BACK TO IRAQ
Documentary about a young Dutch man returning to his country of birth, Iraq. The film was broadcasted by the VPRO and awarded with both the Breaking Ground pitch Award and the Crowdfunding Prize of the NVJ (Dutch Association of Journalism).
I directed and produced this documentary in 2014, as my very first film.
